"James Joyce at his [annual] Wake"
At the annual wake for James Joyce held by the Finnegans Wake Society of New York, it has become a tradition for the Bar Mitzvah boy to show up.  In this photo taken on January 13, 1999 at a restaurant in New York, Ned Harris, the sometimes official photographer for the Society, caught the writer in a relaxed moment. This avatar of Joyce was created by Ciceil Gross in 1995 and since has made regular appearances at Wake Watcher events.
